In my youth, I thought everything had cause and effect like a big clock. In this light, computing made sense. Now, I see that both life and computing can be a crapshoot and I've found a new peace.
went through a similar (if less eloquent) change. when I was young I thought chess is an intelligent game you can learn from but as I aged i have more respect for backgammon (I'm from the middle east it's big here) as a game to teach you about life. probabilities pop up much more than straight logic does.
